Meet Carolyn & Paul
Chances are when you walk into Firehouse Wood Works you will be greeted by Carolyn’s welcoming smile and warm personality.
Carolyn enjoys creating pieces of art while experimenting with a variety of materials and finishing styles. Her true passion lies in the ability to assemble custom tile designs using a self-taught technique of shaping tile on a wet saw, which produces one-of-a-kind mosaic art work. This creative process, hopefully, results in a piece that will bring joy to others.
Before retiring, Carolyn was an optician for over 30 years with local medical practices. When Carolyn is not creating at Firehouse Wood Works she can be found spending time with her daughters, visiting with friends, or walking their dog Cayman (who is also a frequent guest at the Firehouse).
Paul is the extrovert in this creative couple. His love for people is evident in his outgoing personality and gift for striking up conversations and forming friendships wherever he goes.
With a can-do attitude, Paul’s approach is, “If I don’t know how, then I’ll learn how.” He passionately seeks out high quality materials to make sure each piece is beautiful and unique. When visiting Firehouse Wood Works, Paul is usually in back of the building working at his table saw, cnc machine or other assorted tools. But, he always takes the time to say hello, to have a laugh, and share interesting stories with visitors.
Paul retired from a 35+ year sales and marketing career in the alcoholic beverage industry. Outside of Firehouse Woodworks, Paul enjoys visiting with friends and strangers alike at local breweries, cafes and neighborhood pubs. Paul has great pride for his family, especially his two daughters and their spouses.
